The results of this diversification were made known when the online casino giant released its fourth quarter trading results. PartyGaming’s figures show that overall revenues were up 65 percent to US$320 million compared with US$194 million for the same period in 2004. While analysts cited the increase in player numbers and retention as strong factors for the growth, CEO Richard Segal was quick to point out that the decision to cross-sell blackjack through the online casinos site had made a substantial difference. 44 percent of all online casinos fans who played poker at PartyGaming’s site also played blackjack during the fourth quarter. “The success of blackjack has transformed our online casinos business and proved very popular with a large number of our poker players,” Segal said. With the strong performance of blackjack, the company’s daily net online casinos revenue reached an average of US$ 900, 000 per day compared with an average in the previous year of $100, 000.
